Commercial Flooring Questions
Short answers for facility and property managers. Call or text if yours isn’t here.
What is the best flooring for schools and classrooms?
Most schools mix floors by room. Carpet tile works well in classrooms because it quiets the room. Hallways and cafeterias do better with resilient floors like sheet vinyl, LVT or linoleum. Those surfaces are easy for custodians to keep clean. Read our guide: Best Flooring for Classrooms and School Facilities in Wisconsin.
What is the best flooring for apartment turnovers?
Many property managers pick LVT for units. It cleans up fast between tenants. It also holds up to moving day. Carpet tile is common in hallways because you can swap a single damaged tile. See Flooring for Rental Properties in Madison.
Carpet tile or LVT for an office?
Carpet tile is quieter. It’s a good fit for open offices and conference rooms. LVT is easier to clean. It works well in entries, break rooms and busy walkways. Many offices use both. Here’s a longer comparison: Office Flooring: Carpet Tile vs LVP.
Can you work around our business hours?
Yes. We work during regular business hours whenever possible. We phase the job one area at a time. Your building stays open. If a space truly can’t be closed during the day, we can talk about after-hours scheduling.
Do you bid public projects?
Yes. We bid public and municipal work. We also bid GC projects. Send us the bid documents and the flooring spec.
Do you work from architect specs?
Yes. We price to the spec and provide submittals. If a specified product isn’t available, we’ll show you comparable options to choose from.
How fast can you turn an apartment unit?
It depends on the unit size and the floor you pick. Tell us the move-in date. We’ll tell you if it works. For repeat turnovers, we can keep the same floor on file for your property.
Can you replace flooring without closing our building?
Usually, yes. We phase the work by zone. Read Commercial Flooring Without Shutting Down.
What commercial flooring brands do you carry?
Our main commercial lines are J+J Flooring, Patcraft, Shaw Contract, Mannington Commercial and All Surfaces. We source many other commercial lines too. Ask about a spec.
