The Showroom Is About 20 Minutes From Stoughton
2125 S. Stoughton Rd, Madison, WI 53716. Monday through Friday, 8 to 5. Evening and weekend appointments available on request.
Stoughton is straight down Highway 51 from our showroom. Our address is South Stoughton Road, after all. About 20 minutes door to door. We come to you for the first visit, and plenty of Stoughton customers stop in on a Madison errand to see the floors in person.
What We See in Stoughton Houses
Stoughton has the most historic housing of any town we serve. The east side, northwest side, southwest side and Depot Hill historic districts are full of Victorians, Queen Annes, Italianates, bungalows and foursquares, many over a hundred years old. Original pine or maple floors, uneven subfloors and rooms that aren’t square are normal. We measure carefully, tell you what the subfloor needs, and pick floors that fit the age of the house.
Outside the old neighborhoods there’s a lot of mid-century and later housing, and then the new side: Nordic Ridge, 51 West, Kettle Park West and Magnolia Springs, with homes from the 2000s on and some still being built. The oldest of those are now due for their first main-floor replacement, usually the builder’s carpet and vinyl giving out in the kitchen first.
The Yahara River runs through town and Lake Kegonsa sits just outside it. Lower levels near the water can run damp, so we check moisture before we suggest anything for a basement or a lake-side room.
Condos are part of the mix too: The Castle, Cedarbrook, Kensington Square, McComb Place and South School, a few of them conversions of older buildings. Association rules on underlayment and work hours come up and we plan for them. Stoughton is one school district, Stoughton Area, and the business side is Main Street plus the manufacturers, Stoughton Trailers and Uniroyal among them. Offices and break rooms in those buildings go through our commercial side.
How a Stoughton Project Goes
Call, text or email us about the house. We come out, measure, check the subfloor, and go through samples at your kitchen table. One written price before anything is ordered. In a historic house we also tell you whether the subfloor needs leveling or repair first, and what that does to the schedule.
Local installers we’ve worked with for years do the install. One Harmony coordinator lines up tear-out, haul-away, furniture, install and cleanup, then checks the finished floor. If a leak or the river got to your floor, we’ll talk to your insurance adjuster and give them what they need.
Try a floor in your own room first with our online visualizer. It works well in old houses, where the light and the trim change how a floor reads.

Do you come to Stoughton for the in-home visit?
Yes, and it’s free. We measure, check the subfloor and bring samples. The person who visits runs your project start to finish.
How far is your showroom from Stoughton?
About 20 minutes. We’re at 2125 S. Stoughton Rd on Madison’s east side, straight up Highway 51. Open Monday through Friday, 8 to 5. Evening and weekend appointments available on request.
Our Stoughton house is in a historic district. Can you match the original floors?
Usually, yes. We can match species, width and stain closely with new solid hardwood, or patch a damaged area to blend. If the old floor is too far gone, we’ll show you new floors that fit the age of the house.
Can you put flooring in a basement near the Yahara River?
Yes, with vinyl plank, tile or a below-grade carpet, after we test the slab for moisture. Not solid hardwood. Read our basement flooring guide.
My floor was damaged by a leak. Do you work with insurance?
Yes. We’ll talk to your insurance adjuster and give them the measurements and quote they need. You handle the claim itself.
Do you do commercial flooring in Stoughton?
Yes. Main Street shops, offices and break rooms at the manufacturers, phased after hours. See our commercial flooring page.
