Windsor is north of Madison, between the interstate and DeForest. US 51 runs right through it. Follow it south and it becomes South Stoughton Road, where our showroom sits. That’s about 20 minutes door to door.

What We See in Windsor Houses

Windsor became a village in 2015, but it still feels rural in places. There’s farmland in and around it, and many homes sit on half an acre or more. Lake Windsor, Morrisonville and Token Creek are communities inside the village, each with its own mix of houses.

The subdivisions vary a lot. Windsor Crossing, Bear Tree Farms, Wolf Hollow, Cortland Park, Prairie Creek, Revere Trails and Windsor Gardens all have their own feel. You’ll see ranches, craftsman and prairie styles, contemporary two-stories and the odd Tudor. Older homes sometimes hide hardwood under the carpet. In newer ones, builder carpet and vinyl usually wear first in the kitchen and entry.

Holland Fields is a condo community in the village. Association rules on underlayment and work hours are normal there and we plan for them.

Most of Windsor is in the DeForest Area School District, with Windsor Elementary and Harvest Intermediate right in the village. A small corner of the village goes to Sun Prairie schools. The Yahara River and Token Creek run through the area, so we check lower levels for moisture before we suggest a basement floor.

How a Windsor Project Goes

Call, text or email us about the house. We come out, measure, check the subfloor and go through samples with you at home. One written price before anything is ordered. If you’d rather see full boards, the showroom is an easy trip down US 51.

Trusted local installers we’ve worked with for years do the install. One Harmony coordinator lines up tear-out, haul-away, furniture, install and cleanup. Then they check the finished floor. If a leak or a sump failure damaged your floor, we’ll talk to your insurance adjuster.

Try a floor in your own room first with our online visualizer. Snap a photo, test a few options, then borrow the samples you like. Shops and offices in Windsor go through our commercial side.

Windsor Flooring Questions

Straight answers. See all our FAQs, or call and ask.

Do you come to Windsor for the in-home visit?

Yes, and it’s free. We measure, check the subfloor and bring samples to your house. The person who visits runs your project start to finish.

How far is your showroom from Windsor?

About 20 minutes. We’re at 2125 S. Stoughton Rd on Madison’s east side. Take US 51 south, which turns into Stoughton Road in Madison. Open Monday through Friday, 8 to 5. Evening and weekend appointments available on request.

Our Windsor home has a big bonus room and a finished lower level. Can you do both?

Yes. Carpet is popular in bonus rooms. Vinyl plank or a below-grade carpet works well downstairs. We measure every room and give you one written price.

What’s the best floor for a basement near Token Creek or the Yahara?

Vinyl plank, tile or a carpet made for below grade. We test the slab for moisture first. Read our basement flooring guide.

My floor was damaged by a leak. Do you work with insurance?

Yes. We’ll talk to your insurance adjuster and give them the measurements and quote they need. You handle the claim itself.

Do you handle Windsor condos and businesses?

Yes. Holland Fields and other associations, with sound underlayment where required. Shops and offices go through our commercial flooring page.
