About the brand
Who COREtec Is For
COREtec is waterproof luxury vinyl plank and tile from USFloors, a Shaw Industries company. Harmony Flooring carries it at our Madison showroom and helps you choose, measure and schedule the work. The maker says it was the first brand to offer a 100% waterproof vinyl floor. It’s a strong fit if you have kids or pets. It also works if you’re finishing a basement. It’s one of several lines of vinyl plank flooring in Madison we carry.
We carry COREtec flooring in Madison because one brand covers a lot of ground. There’s a softer, quieter plank for living spaces. There’s a harder plank for heavy traffic. There’s a grout-free tile look for baths and entries. We’ve helped Madison homeowners pick floors since 2009.

Questions
COREtec Flooring FAQ
Is COREtec flooring really waterproof?
COREtec calls its floors 100% waterproof. The maker says they won’t warp or buckle from water. A leak can still trap water under any floor. Fix leaks and damp slabs first.
How does buying COREtec from Harmony work?
One person at Harmony Flooring handles your project from the first sample to the final walkthrough. You pick the floor at our Madison showroom or during a free in-home visit. We measure, order and schedule. Trusted local installers do the work and your Harmony contact stays on the job until it’s done.
What is the difference between COREtec Originals and COREtec Pro?
Originals has a thicker WPC core with attached cork. It feels softer and quieter. Pro has a thinner SPC core. It resists dents and impacts better in busy rooms.
Can COREtec go in a basement?
Yes. COREtec planks are rated for use above, on and below grade. We still check the slab for moisture first. A dry and flat slab gives the best result.
Does COREtec need to acclimate?
COREtec says its floors don’t need acclimation or a waiting period. Follow the steps for your exact style. We’ll go over them with you.
Is COREtec good for homes with dogs?
It’s a solid pick for homes with pets. The maker calls it kidproof and petproof. Pro lines add dent resistance. No floor is scratch-proof. Trim nails and use felt pads on chairs.
How do I clean and care for COREtec floors?
Sweep or vacuum often to pick up grit. Turn off the beater bar on your vacuum. Damp mop with a cleaner made for vinyl floors. Skip wax and harsh cleaners. Put felt pads under chair and table legs. Follow COREtec’s care guide for your style.
