Cottage Grove sits just east of Madison along I-94. Head west on Cottage Grove Road or take the interstate to the Beltline, and you’re at our showroom on South Stoughton Road in about 15 minutes. Plenty of Cottage Grove customers stop in on the way home. Plenty more have us come out first.

What We See in Cottage Grove Houses

Cottage Grove was a small railroad village for most of its history. Then it grew fast. The village went from about 4,000 people in 2000 to more than 7,000 by 2020. So a big share of the houses here are from the last thirty years.

The first large subdivisions came earlier. Seldal went in around 1969, and Grove Heights and Crawford followed in the 1970s. Those ranches and split-levels are on their second or third set of floors by now. Some still have oak under the carpet. We check before you buy anything.

Westlawn Estates has been filling in since the early 1990s and is still adding homes. You’ll also find Quarry Ridge, Ravenwood, Northlawn Estates and Willow Run Estates, plus homes on bigger rural lots just outside the village. In the newer houses, builder carpet and vinyl usually wear out first in the kitchen and front hall. Open main floors are common, so one floor across the whole level is a popular choice.

Cottage Grove shares the Monona Grove School District with Monona. Kids here go to Cottage Grove Elementary or Taylor Prairie, then Glacial Drumlin and Monona Grove High. Families moving in for the schools often want new floors before the boxes are unpacked. Call before closing and we’ll have samples ready.

The business side is growing near the I-94 and County N interchange, with shops along Main Street in Olde Town. Office and retail floors go through our commercial side, after hours when it has to be.

How a Cottage Grove Project Goes

Call, text or email us about the room. We come out, measure, check the subfloor and go through samples at your kitchen table. Since you’re close, you can also start at the showroom and borrow samples. One written price before anything is ordered.

Trusted local installers we’ve worked with for years do the install. One Harmony coordinator lines up tear-out, haul-away, furniture, install and cleanup. Then they check the finished floor. If a leak damaged your floor, we’ll talk to your insurance adjuster.

Want to see a floor in your own room first? Snap a photo and try it in our online visualizer. Then borrow the samples that made the cut.

Do you come to Cottage Grove for the in-home visit?

Yes, and it’s free. We measure, check the subfloor and bring samples to your house. The person who visits runs your project start to finish.

How far is your showroom from Cottage Grove?

About 15 minutes. We’re at 2125 S. Stoughton Rd on Madison’s east side. Take Cottage Grove Road west, or I-94 to the Beltline and exit at Stoughton Road. Open Monday through Friday, 8 to 5. Evening and weekend appointments available on request.

Our Cottage Grove split-level is from the 70s. What floor makes sense?

Have us look under the carpet first. Many homes from that era have oak under the carpet that’s still in good shape. If not, vinyl plank on the main level and carpet on the stairs and bedrooms is a common mix.

Can you put one floor across our whole open main level?

Yes. Vinyl plank or engineered hardwood, run room to room without extra transitions. We measure every room and give you one written price.

My floor was damaged by a leak. Do you work with insurance?

Yes. We’ll talk to your insurance adjuster and give them the measurements and quote they need. You handle the claim itself.

Do you do flooring for Cottage Grove businesses?

Yes. Offices, shops and the business parks near I-94, phased after hours so you stay open. See our commercial flooring page.
