McFarland is just south of the Beltline on Highway 51, and so are we. From the village it’s about ten minutes north to our showroom on South Stoughton Road. Plenty of McFarland customers swing by on a lunch break. Plenty more have us come out instead.

What We See in McFarland Houses

McFarland grew up after World War II as a commuter village, and most of the established neighborhoods, April Hill, Highland Oaks, Idlewild, Panorama and Parkview, have ranches, split-levels and two-stories from the 60s through the 90s. Many are on their second or third set of floors. Some still have hardwood under the carpet, and we check before you buy.

The village is still building. Country Wood, Juniper Ridge and Secret Places are the newer subdivisions, and McFarland adds dozens of new houses and duplexes a year. The 2000s homes are now at the age where the builder’s carpet and vinyl wear out in the kitchen and hallway first.

Lake Waubesa and the Yahara River shape a lot of McFarland housing. Burma Road, Waubesa Shores and the lakeside streets face sand, wet feet and damp lower levels. Mudrooms and lower levels near the water want vinyl plank or tile. Main floors can take hardwood, but we’ll steer you to engineered in a house that sits low.

Condos and townhomes are common too: Villas at Secret Places, Park Woods, Waubesa Shores. Association rules on underlayment and work hours are normal there and we plan around them. McFarland is one school district, McFarland School District, and a lot of the calls we get are young families replacing floors before a baby or after a dog.

How a McFarland Project Goes

Call, text or email us about the room, or stop in. We measure, check the subfloor and the lower level for moisture, and go through samples with you. One written price before anything is ordered.

Local installers we’ve worked with for years do the work. One Harmony coordinator lines up tear-out, haul-away, furniture, install and cleanup, then checks the finished floor. Lake flooding, a sump failure or a leak? We’ll talk to your insurance adjuster and give them the measurements and quote they need.

Try a floor in your own room first with our online visualizer. Snap a photo, test the options, then borrow the samples that made the cut.
