DeForest is straight north of Madison on US 51 and the interstate. From our showroom on South Stoughton Road it’s about 20 minutes. Stop in on the way home, or have us come out to the house with samples. Either works.

What We See in DeForest Houses

DeForest was a farm town that turned into a suburb, and the housing shows both halves. Acker Park, Pleasant Hills, Thunderbird Estates and Tower Hill Meadows have the established ranches and split-levels. Many have been through one flooring update already and are due for the next one. Some still have hardwood under the carpet, and we check before you buy.

Eaglewatch, Hanks Hollow, Sunnybrook, Heritage Gardens and Conservancy Place along the Yahara River are the newer side, and some of them are still being built. The 2000s homes are at the age where the builder’s carpet and vinyl give out in the kitchen first. Conservancy Place sits near the river, so we always check lower levels there for moisture before we recommend anything.

DeForest is one school district, DeForest Area, and it draws a lot of young families. Kids, dogs and a finished basement come up on almost every call.

The village also has a real industrial side: EVCO Plastics, ABS Global, American Packaging, the Walgreens distribution center and the business park off the interstate. Offices, break rooms and lobbies in those buildings go through our commercial side, phased so you don’t shut down.

How a DeForest Project Goes

Call, text or email us about the room. We measure, check the subfloor and go through samples at your kitchen table, or you come see the full floor at the showroom. One written price before anything is ordered.

The installers are local people we’ve worked with for years. One Harmony coordinator lines up tear-out, haul-away, furniture, install and cleanup, then checks the work. A sump pump or water heater failure? We’ll talk to your insurance adjuster and give them the measurements and quote they need.

Not sure which floor fits? Take a photo of the room and try the options in our online visualizer, then borrow the samples that made the cut.

DeForest Flooring Questions

Straight answers. See all our FAQs, or call and ask.

Do you come to DeForest for the in-home visit?

Yes, and it’s free. We measure, check the subfloor and bring samples. The same person runs your project from the first call to the last walkthrough.

How far is your showroom from DeForest?

About 20 minutes. We’re at 2125 S. Stoughton Rd on Madison’s east side. US 51 or the interstate south to the Beltline, exit at Stoughton Road. Open Monday through Friday, 8 to 5. Evening and weekend appointments available on request.

What’s the best floor for a DeForest basement?

Vinyl plank, tile or a below-grade carpet. We test the slab for moisture first, especially near the river. Read our basement flooring guide.

Our split-level has three short staircases. Can you do carpet on all of them?

Yes. Stairs are a big part of split-level jobs in DeForest. We match the carpet on the stairs to the bedroom level or run a durable runner-style carpet.

My floor was damaged by a leak. Do you work with insurance?

Yes. We’ll talk to your insurance adjuster and give them the measurements and quote they need. You handle the claim itself.

Do you do commercial flooring in the DeForest business park?

Yes. Offices, break rooms, lobbies and retail, phased after hours so the building stays open. See our commercial flooring page.
